Personal opinion… Smith & Forge is the best tasting hard cider, but it’s very sweet which means lots of sugar. If I’m going to be drinking several, I go for Woodchuck or Crispin.

  2. Cider girl

Redds is NOT a cider, it’s an ale. In other words, apple flavored beer. And ifs definitely not gluten free.

  3. Jason

I’ve always preferred Woodchuck. They’ve got a great pear cider as well.

  4. Lorissa

I’m in Oz(Australia) and found MAGNERS ‘Blonde’ Lower Carb cider the best & healthiest choice here Ie.No added sugar, Nutritional value(per bottle/330ml) Energy 93cal/388kj, protein-fat-sat fat <0.01, Carbs 2.64 Sugars <0.01 But I have a question I'm hoping someone can help with, "How does the yeast used during production affect our health Ie. weight gain?" Eagerly awaiting feedback 🙂 Cheers, Lorissa

Is this a collection of the worst ciders you can find? Seriously. These are awful ciders. Crispin is decent the rest are terrible. Try some craft ciders instead.

    1. Vern

      Yes! Agreed 🍏🍎

Check out Citizen Cider (Burlington, VT). They have several varieties that are exceptional and they don’t add any additional sugar during the production as they use a stop-fermentation process. All their apples are locally (VT & NY) sourced directly from farmers, never from concentrate, and pressed at Happy Valley Orchards. My favorite is Wits Up which is 155 Calories per 16 ounce, 5.9% ABV, 0g Sugar, and 2 Carbs. I am a native Vermonter and we now have many great Cideries to choose from; Woodchuck, Champlain Orchards, and Stowe Cider… Citizen takes the cake for me! Vermont Ice Hard Cider from Boyden Valley Winery & Spirits in Cambridge, VT is delicious also. P.S. No I do not work for them (Citizen) nor have I ever. I just love cider and have tried nearly every brand and variety I’ve been able to get my hands on. Just wanted to give my opinion. Check out their site and offerings and then I seriously suggest you give a taste of what they’ve got. You wont regret it.
